Natural Products Expo West, the world’s largest natural, organic and healthy products event, broke industry records again this year! This annual springtime event grew by 6.9 percent in 2016 hosting more than 77,000 attendees.
Exhibitors from around the country and across the globe came to Anaheim, California to showcase the newest in natural and specialty foods, organic, health and beauty, natural living, supplements and pet products.
Five vast halls of the Anaheim Convention Center were teeming with over 3000 exhibits from more than 1,800 companies and included over 600 first-time exhibitors.

Natural Products Expo West, the world’s largest natural, organic and healthy products trade show, took over the entire Anaheim Convention Center in California from March fourth through the eighth of this year.
The event, in its 35th year grew 7.2 percent, shattering records and attracting over 71,000 industry members. There were more than 2,700 companies exhibiting natural and organic food, beverages, supplements, clothing and household goods as retailers, distributors and members of the press packed the aisles.
VegTV was there on the lookout for innovative and cutting edge products and was impressed with quite a few, this year. The demands of modern life can leave many of us feeling overwhelmed and physicians all too often prescribe medications with significant side effects that make it difficult to function.
Sales of antidepressants continue to rise and industry experts are forecasting that sales of these anti-stress medications will reach almost $6 billion by 2017. According to the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) about one in every 10 Americans is taking a prescription antidepressant and among women from 40 to 50, the figure is one in four.
Antidepressants most widely prescribed come from a class of medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and include well-known antidepressants such as Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft.

Every year, since 1981 manufacturers distributors and retail buyers of natural, organic and healthy products converge at Natural Products Expo West, the largest natural products trade show in the country.
That first year there were 3,000 attendees and 234 exhibitors. This year more than 2,600 exhibiting companies played to an audience of over 67,000 industry members.
Companies from the US and around the world displayed all manner of food, beverage, supplement, beauty, household and pet products demonstrating the phenomenal growth of the global natural products industry.
Among industry veterans, there were 635 first-time exhibitors. Many Natural Products Expo West first-time exhibitors are ‘home cooks,’ passionate moms and nutrition-focused athletes who have launched their own products. Going vegan has become very trendy and it seems every day another star athlete or well-known celebrity makes the decision to kick animal products from their menu.
There are, however consumer items in all areas of life that exploit animals one way or another and while most begin by choosing the plant-based diet, eventually other areas of lifestyle come under scrutiny.
