It’s amazing how fast the world is moving. The first “car phone” weighed in at a not so svelte 2.2 pounds (1 kilo) and had a battery that lasted 35 minutes.
Not a problem at the time because you couldn’t hold it for that long, anyway. Quite antiquated by today’s standards!
New technology being introduced every day means the world is not only faster – it is smaller and immediate connectivity is at our fingertips.
There is no separation anymore between television, the Internet and commerce – everything is merging into one stream of information and entertainment available 24/7. So, it was no surprise to see a new website, TV show and retail shop all rolled into one.
Shopping online saves time, fuel and money and conserving energy and resources is always good for the planet.
CoffeyBuzz is an entertaining and informative lifestyle video-zine that reports on what’s new in popular culture, lifestyle, fashion and health.
What makes this online show unique is that the viewer can push a shopping cart through the video and interact with goods and services in the show.
With the innovative HyperspotsTM technology, viewers just click on an item in the show for a direct link to more information or to make a purchase – right from the screen.
Lifestyle and relationship expert, Lissa Coffey hosts the show and Emmy Award winning actor Charles Shaughnessy (Days of Our Lives, The Nanny) and his brother, Emmy Award winning producer David Shaughnessy (The Young and the Restless) produce the show with Lissa.
The first show was a tribute to mothers for Mother’s Day. They visited an ayurvedic spa and experienced a “Shirodhara” – an amazing massage considered to be restorative therapy where warm sesame oil is poured gently over the forehead.
Viewers learned about Ayurveda, India’s 5,000-year old Science of Life, from an ayurvedic practitioner. The host showed viewers how to make their own bath salts right at home for a fraction of the cost. The bath salts recipe is on the website ready to print out.
The next show takes the viewer to The Barkley Pet Hotel, a luxurious pet hotel and day spa where every client is treated like a VIP: Very Important Pet! This is a place that takes pet pampering to a whole new level.
Dogs can get pawdicures and massages and when they stay overnight there are walks, TVs tuned to Animal Planet and in-room dining. Something you have to see to believe!
Along the way the viewer can click to get information about that cute “Furcedes” dog bed, the “Pawda” purse dog toy or how to care for your Chihuahua. Every show features have links to various related philanthropic organizations.
In upcoming episodes, Lissa will be cooking, making over a bachelor pad, exploring the health benefits of salt and checking out a car museum.
This is just one of the many exciting ways this new technology can integrate useful information into anything we do! Times have changed, and viewing habits have changed, too. Check out CoffeyBuzz.com.
